Our youths are our future. It is our responsibility to set them on the right path of life – the supreme path towards happiness and peace. With this highest purpose in mind, the Shivabala-Shivarudrabalayogi Universal Peace Mission Malaysia has without fail, carried out the annual youth camp program, to share key life empowerment teachings to the mission youths.
This year, the Youth Camp program was held from 16 August 2019 to 18 August 2019, in Port Dickson. A total of 44 youths and 15 volunteers from the various centres in Malaysia attended this Camp.
The focus for this year’s camp was to address the daily challenges and problems faced by the youths of different age groups. With the guidance of Swamiji and Babaji’s teachings, group discussions and in-depth self-enquiry, the youths were guided to look deeper within themselves and discover the root cause of the challenges and problems that they currently face in their life. The exercises and activities conducted during the camp helped the youths realise that more often than not, the challenges that they faced in life were because they were afraid to move out of their own comfort zones or where they tended to blame others for their failures rather than accept responsibility for their actions. Some youths realised that they had acted irrationally as they were reacting towards their wavering emotions. Ultimately, they discovered that when they have clarity of their life purpose and act selflessly, they are able to aattain a more balanced and peaceful life.
It was truly beautiful to see the mission youths strengthen their spiritual bond during the group discussions and satsang sessions. Through the sharing of their life challenges and self-discoveries, they realised that they are not alone in their spiritual journey and that they will always have the love and support of their mission family.
It goes without saying that the youths look forward to the evening sessions where they get to participate in a range of outdoor games and beach activities. It was encouraging to see the youths of different ages and backgrounds bond, laugh and play together.
At the end of the camp, the youths with the guidance of Swamiji and Babaji’s teachings, had come up with a draft framework on the root causes for the challenges faced by the youths of today as well as a step by step guidance on how to address and overcome these challenges. The mission youths have also come together and have taken up the challenge to inspire their friends and other youths into this journey of self-discovery and self-mastery.
And the spiritual journey towards self-mastery continues…
