His Holiness Shri Shri Shri Shiva Rudra Balayogi Maharaj visited Malaysia from 28 September – 2 October 2010. On Wednesday, 29 September 2010 a Public Darshan Programme was held in Ipoh, Perak.
Shri Babaji’s programme in Ipoh commenced with a visit to the Ipoh Centre at 8.30am. He was greeted by the chanting of the ‘Shiva Brahmasmi’. On His arrival, patha pooja, garlanding and arathi were performed. He then performed arathi for His Guru and took His seat on the dais. After a welcoming song, Shri Babaji was presented with a cake. Shri Babaji cut the cake and placed a piece at His Guru’s feet. The devotees then presented Shri Babaji a gift.
Shri Babaji greeted the devotees and spoke to motivate them to carry on their Mission work. He also told them how the Mission in Malaysia started 10 years ago. Shri Babaji also announced that He had initiated His assistants Rekha and Rahul into sannyas. At 10.45 am, Shri Babaji left for another devotee’s home to rest before the evening programme.
The evening programme was held at the Pillayar Temple, Ipoh. The devotees worked tirelessly to organize the temple which was beautifully decorated. A photograph of Shri Babaji’s Guru, Shri Shri Shri Shivabalayogi Maharaj took centre-stage at a specially set up altar. Shri Babaji’s dais was also decorated with stunning floral arrangements and candles.
By 7.15pm the temple was full with a few hundred devotees and members of the public. Shri Babaji arrived at the temple at 7.40pm and was welcomed by the sounds of the nadeswaram and the singing of the bhajan. Flower girls offered rose petals as Shri Babaji walked into the temple. Shri Babaji was led to the inner sanctum where He performed arathi for the presiding diety of the temple. He also performed arathi for His Guru. Then Shri Babaji took His seat on the beautifully decorated dais.
The temple President, Mr. Kasinathan, gave a short speech welcoming Shri Babaji for the second consecutive year to the temple. One of the devotees then gave a brief introduction about Shri Babaji’s life and His teachings.
The highlight of the evening was Shri Babaji’s satsang. Shri Babaji began with a melodious Ganesha mantra. He then spoke on the choice of Guru and how to live a happy life in this world. He also spoke about meditation which is His main teaching.
After Shri Babaji’s satsang, arathi was performed. Then it was time for darshan. During darshan, bhajans were sung and the crowd patiently waited their turn to take their darshan.
After darshan, Shri Babaji was escorted to perform the arathi at the inner sanctum again before heading for His dinner.
At 11pm, the crowd gathered around Shri Babaji’s car and everyone gave Shri Babaji a resounding “We love You Babaji” before He left Ipoh. All the devotees, some in tears, were indeed very sad that the night had come to an end with Shri Babaji’s departure.
